I am a pro photographer by day and a restoring ninja by night….or something that sounds equally cool . I restored cars in a local shop just out of high school way back when before going all career-ish and now that I am slowing a bit I do them for myself and the fun of it …that and I am addicted to restoration. I have set up a small one car shop at my sisters house in Tolono and a even smaller one at home in Saint Joseph for small items etc. I currently have a 57 MGA, 63 and 65 MGC and a 69 MGC…..all in various stages restoration and needing it really bad.
I enjoy doing everything myself….engines to paint…or so I tell myself. Since I have finished nothing ….we shall see 🙂 I enjoy the restoration journey both learning /sharing . This is my first year back in the game so not too much done thus far . I have build a Rotisserie for an MGB then decided to work on the MGA ….so if you allow me in the club this is what you can look forward to! lol Anyway, I look forward to your response. Cheers! Ron
Hello… I am the proud owner of a 2012 Mini Cooper S. This is my second. My first was a 2007.
My first contact with Mini was in about 1974 where I saw an original Mini with right hand drive on a car lot in St. Charles, Mo. At the time I couldn’t figure out why it was listed as such a seemingly high price.
Later in life Mini and I met up again when I lived in London in the 1990s. The years in Europe rekindled my interest in Mini and I was old enough to understand its history and uniqueness.
When I returned to American and was finally making some money I purchased my first Mini in 2008. Some repeated problems forced me to trade it off. I am hoping my 2012 will provide the same joy without the overheating / thermostat problems.
I think I met Brian Davis at a small car show in Bloomington at a retirement village mid-summer. I told him then that I was itching to get another Mini. Looking forward to attending some cars shows and making new friends.
