2023 Featured Marque – All MGs
The Champagne British Car Festival (CBCF) had its beginnings as an all-British car show held at a community college in Springfield, IL. It soon relocated to Urbana-Champaign in the spring of 1992. In 2010, the festival moved to Bloomington, IL where the show found its current location at the David Davis Mansion on the City’s near east side.
What happened at the Champagne British Car Festival THIS YEAR?
Saturday, June 4, 2022 – Route 66 Cruise-in – The Champagne British Car Festival hosted a Cruise-in to Historic Atlanta, IL where the main street was blocked off for our All-British Pop-up Car Show. During the lunch break the City opened up their Route 66 and Pinball museums for our use. The drive included a visit to a local car collection that you did NOT want to miss! Cruisers participated in our version of a Poker Run with awards presented during the evening’s Pub Night in the Courtyard
Saturday, June 4, 2022 – Pub Night – Meet & Greet – The Champagne British Car Festival hosted its English Pub Night Meet & Greet in the British themed “Outdoor” Courtyard of the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington, IL. This was a great opportunity to make new friends and visit with old ones.
Sunday, June 5, 2022 – CBCF Car Show – The Champagne British Car Show on beautiful Clover Lawn of David Davis Mansion, Bloomington, IL. The David Davis Mansion provides a wonderful backdrop to display over 140 British cars.
The festival’s car show was open to the public from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
More than 140 British cars attended at this popular annual event, organized by members of the Flat Land British Car Club. Along with the usual influx of MGs, Triumphs, and Austin-Healeys, other British marques on display include Jaguar, Bentley, Cobra, Morgan, Lotus, Mini and Rootes.
For 2022, the CBCF has received significant support from the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site.
As with most car shows, the enthusiasts who volunteer their time and efforts have made the CBCF what it is today. The Champagne British Car Festival has become an annual event for many British car enthusiasts in the Midwest since 1991.
