NEW All-British Car Show Page

Looking for other All-British car show venues to visit this year? Check out IFLBCC’s newest page – Other British Car Shows!

Chuck Ladwig, of the British Car Union Board of Directors, contacted us with a proposition for a mutual partnership in advertising each others’ British Car Festivals. This was a FANTASTIC idea!

We’ve agreed to cross-post our events through social media, websites, and direct email. Our events will also provide flyers that can be included in our welcome packet and in their direct-mailed news letter.

If you plan on attending any of of these events, let the organizers know that you “Saw It HERE” – IFLBCC Other British Car Shows

How to Subscribe to IFLBCC’s Monthly Newsletter in British Marque.

Did you know that Illinois Flat Land British Car Club (IFLBCC) is a Participating Club with the British Marque Car Club News?

Each month , the British Marque is published eleven times a year in a 40-page, tabloid newspaper format, in both Print and On-line Editions. They have subscribers and correspondents from Ontario to Texas and from Maine to California, plus a number in the United Kingdom.

As a Participating Club, the Illinois Flat Land British Car Club has been contributing articles to be published in the Marque for the past year. Along with our articles, notifications of our events are added to the Marque’s monthly calendar in the paper and on their website. This gives our club national and international publicity, helping build
the events and our club at the same time. In December alone, the Marque website boasted over 26,500 unique visitors!

You can download a free sample copy of the Marque from their website, www.britishmarque.com, if you’re not familiar with the paper. We have been publishing articles in the Marque since June 2022.  Reprints of our articles have been published on Facebook and in the What’s New section of the IFLBCC website.   A copy of their subscription form is available for download below.

Each member of a Participating Club who resides in the USA is entitled to a reduced subscription rate of $18.00 per year for the Print Edition. A subscription to the On-line Edition for Participating Club members is $12.00. Subscribers to the Print Edition can get the On-line Edition at no additional cost – all they have to do is sign up for it on their website.

Need a Classified Ad? Subscribers from Participating Clubs have the privilege of one free classified per issue, up to 20 words. At their option, they can continue running their ads in subsequent issues until their items are sold (the “for sale” ads) or purchased (the “wanted” ads). This is a $7.50 value per issue that is offered for non-commercial ads only

We have ALSO arranged for a block of rooms at the newly renovated Chateau Hotel and Conference Center.

Saturday evening’s CBCF sit-down banquet will be held in the newly renovated* Chateau Hotel and Conference Center’s ballroom and will also be the location of our Friday night Welcome Reception and launching point for Saturday’s cruise-in to Pontiac, IL. For these reasons, the Chateau Hotel may be the better choice for your stay. * Some renovations may not be completed by June 2nd.

CBCF’s Route 66 Rally to Pontiac, IL

The 2023 Champagne British Car Festival (CBCF) will be featuring a self-guided rally, on Saturday morning, June 3, to Historic Pontiac, IL where the city parking lot will be reserved for our use. City representatives will welcome us with information packets and souvenir Route 66 pin. Arrangements have been made with Pontiac’s Tourism Department to provide us with special access to the Route 66 Hall of Fame exhibits & Museum and Pontiac-Oakland Automobile Museum. More Information.

Block 59 (the block south of the historic courthouse) will be blocked off exclusively for our group.  The City will have staff there to greet and pull barricades to let our cars in.  They will also have goodie bags for attendees that will include a VIP button (our Visitor in Pontiac program which lists discounts at various downtown retails and restaurants), a downtown map and a current list of restaurants in the area that will be open that day for lunch.

Currently, the restaurants that will be open within walking distance are listed below. The Welcome Staff will provide an up-to-date list the day of our arrival. The list will include restaurants, addresses and type of food

Tim Dye of the Pontiac / Oakland Automobile Museum is happy to offer special “Behind the Scenes” tours for CBCF ralliers.  The first tour will be from 12:00-1:00 and the 2nd tour from 1:00 to 2:00.  These tours are usually $5/person but he will offer them to our group for $3/person.  A sign-up sheet will be available to limit tour groups to 15 people per tour.

We’re also working with the City to set up a time for drivers to pull their cars in front of the iconic Pontiac Route 66 Shield Mural on their way out of town.  We will have someone there to help facilitate that.

You’ll want to be sure to visit the Route 66 Museum’s first floor to see Bob Waldmire’s famous VW van and a mural he painted over several years.  Behind the museum, we’ve arranged for CBCF folks to tour his renovated 1966 school bus, commonly referred to as his “Road Yacht.” This is open only by special arrangement. The Welcome Staff will provide us with the exact time Staff will have it available for touring.

Don’t miss out on this GREAT RALLY! Register for CBCF TODAY!

March CBCF Planning Meeting Update

It’s probably hard to imagine that the Champagne British Car Festival is only THREE months away! The March 7th meeting was our SECOND “working session”  and was critical in assigning sub-committee leaders and helpers in key roles.  Major decisions were made concerning sponsorships, insurance, voting and drives.

For 2023 we will continue the full 3-Day Festival experience and have already planned out a tentative schedule, venues, vendors and many of the details. Registration for CBCF opened on Feb. 15 and we’re well on our way to a successful 2023 event.  You can get an early preview of what’s to come by visiting https://iflbcc.club/iflbcc-home-page/

What we need NOW is help with executing these plans!  That’s where YOU come in.  We will need additional Illinois Flat Land Car Club members to help during the weekend during the drive, evening events and the Sunday car show. These functions do not require a large commitment of time or effort. Want to help? Contact us at [email protected]

The next CBCF Planning Meeting is scheduled for April 4th
